HERBAL REMEDIES:

Dandruff Relief through Herbal Remedies
A great many people suffer from dandruff, typically characterized by silvery scales of skin flaking from the scalp and gathering in the hair.

Health experts believe the condition to be caused by malassezia, also known as pityrosporum. This is a yeast-like fungus that is commonly found on the scalp. Usually, it doesn’t cause any problems at all. However, sometimes, this fungus can grow to unchecked levels. No one is certain of all the reasons as to why dandruff occurs, but some of them may include stress, immune suppression, infrequent shampooing, or increased oil production in the scalp. When the fungus builds up, it creates a low-grade inflammation which produces dead skin cells. Sometimes this can even lead to infection.

Common Symptoms of Dandruff
The symptoms usually associated with dandruff are the white flakes of dead skin that form on the scalp and in the hair, and an itchy scalp. The scalp will often be scaly, and either oily or dry. Some health experts believe that dandruff may be caused by a general condition of poor health, like poor nutrition or a suppressed immune system.

Natural and Herbal Remedies for Dandruff
Olive and Almond Oil: Take equal amounts of each oil and massage them into the scalp. Wait five minutes before rinsing it out.

Ginger: A mixture of ginger root and olive oil applied to the scalp before shampooing can also aid against dandruff. When dealing with particularly acute cases of dandruff, put the mixture on about ten or fifteen minutes before washing the hair.

Rosemary Rub: Use either rosemary oil, or combine olive oil and crushed rosemary. Rub it into the scalp and let it stand for 15 minutes.

Tea Tree Oil: This has been known to be effective in the treatment of dandruff. Rub it into the scalp.

Fenugreek Seeds: This natural substance is an important factor in the treatment of dandruff. Soak two tablespoons of the seeds in water overnight, then make them into a fine paste in the morning. Apply the paste to the scalp and leave it for an hour.

Lime: Just something simple, like a teaspoon of fresh lime juice, when rinsing the hair, can be a big help in the fight against dandruff. Not only does it prevent dandruff, but it also makes the hair shiny and strips away any stickiness.

Green Gram Powder: Wash the hair with this herb a minimum of twice a week, using two tablespoons of the powder mixed into half a cup of curd.

Diet is also a factor consider, according to health experts. Dandruff sufferers should try to stick to an all-fruit diet for five days, consisting of three meals per day composed of ripe, fresh fruits. Do not eat any citrus fruits, bananas, or canned fruits. Once the five day period has passed, a more balanced diet can be adopted, emphasizing raw foods, focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables. This means to avoid such things as strong caffeinated beverages, foods that have been refined or processed, and pickles.
